Final Blog

We went to class and got started on choosing our best footages to start editing. We had two to three shots for each script we had made, so we picked one of each. We watched every single one and went over which one had more details and which one was better. I then downloaded iMovie so we could start editing. I went ahead and watched all of our footage again to see if i had to crop anything out or cut any scenes, or split any footage in half. I also went over our angles, how we did everything. After watching our shots a couple times i went ahead and dumped every single footage on iMovie. We just watched how it looked all together and how long it was to see if we had to crop anything out, or cut anything short. I had to split a couple shots, i also had to cut some short because we had like one minute long commercial. So i went ahead and cut it shorter and watched it over to see if i had cut anything important out.
After we finished cutting everything and making sure i hadn’t missed anything or took anything important out by accident, we went ahead and started talking about our script for our voice over. Since our commercial is a infomercial we decided to talk a little about our shots and what they’re feeling but we then decided we needed some more ideas so we all went and did some research on infomercials. We all watched different videos and analyzed how they were made, the angles, how they voiced it over. After watching and doing some research we went ahead and started writing down what we were going to say for our voice over. While the other people in my group did that i went and started taking out the sound from every clip, and only keeping some sounds that would be good use as sound affects such as the bell ringing. I cut out that sound of the bell ringing and placed it on another shot that we took. It would make more sense.
After i cut out the sounds and added sound affects we decided we needed some transitions and to cut it shorter since it was still over 30 seconds long. It was around 59 seconds long and we then decided that some scenes could’ve been split and then transitioned back to where i had cut it off. After doing all of that we went and did some more research on dunkin commercials just to make sure. We then decided to add the dunkin logo as the brands logo. Which made it look more alike to a commercial. We then talked more about what our script was going to say and who would do the voice over. We decided on one of our group members to do it and then we continued with what she was going to say. We also decided to add the actual “America runs on dunkin” at the end of our commercial. After we were all set we just watched it over to make sure we had everything done correctly and went ahead and finished our script.
